Benchmark names Gregory Majka Director of Catering & Conference Services
Benchmark Hospitality International, a leading U.S.-based hospitality management company, has appointed Gregory A. Majka director of catering & conference services for Bonaventure Resort & Spa, a Benchmark Resort? located in Fort Lauderdale. Charles Reece, Benchmark’s general manager at the resort, made the announcement.
“I am very pleased to welcome Greg to our property,” said Mr. Reece. “He comes to his new position with important leadership experience in exemplary service delivery, and with an excellent understanding of the Florida resort market. We look forward to his contribution as part of our executive team.”
Greg Majka was most recently director of catering & convention services for both the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort & Spa in Fort Myers, Florida, and the Westin St. Maarten Resort, Spa & Casino, located on Sint Maarten in the Caribbean. Mr. Majka previously served in the same professional role for resorts and hotels within the Starwood organization, including the Westin Park Plaza in Dallas and the Westin Fort Lauderdale.
Mr. Majka held the title of general manager for the Wyndham Whitney Hotel in New Orleans. Earlier in his career he served as director of operations and director of food & beverage for properties in St. Thomas, Florida and Georgia.
Greg Majka is a graduate of Erie Community College. He attended the Rochester Institute of Technology and the Florida Gold Coast School. Mr. Majka is relocating to Weston, Florida.
