Hey Monea! To Perform on the Main Stage at Hard Rock Calling 2012 in London’s Hyde Park!

Orlando, Fla., May 4, 2012 – Hard Rock is proud to announce Cleveland’s Hey Monea! as winner of the Hard Rock Rising global battle of the bands competition. Hey Monea! now officially joins the main stage lineup at Hard Rock Calling 2012 in London’s Hyde Park – one of the world’s most-anticipated concert events. With thousands of fans and top headliners, including Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Soundgarden and Paul Simon, Hard Rock Calling is the chance of a lifetime for Hey Monea! to gain exposure and showcase their talent in front of today’s most iconic artists.

Dedicated to live music and its support of emerging artists, Hard Rock International, in a partnership with online music services company ReverbNation, launched Hard Rock Rising, the brand’s largest Battle of the Bands competition ever with more than 12,000 bands entering and 841 bands competing live on Hard Rock stages in 86 locations around the world!  Hey Monea! will be flown to London for the ultimate rock star treatment, including a spot on the main stage at Hard Rock Calling 2012.

Hard Rock’s Global Battle
Hey Monea! beat out their rivals in a series of live battles at Hard Rock Cafe CIeveland, survived a local and a global voting phase on Facebook, and was ultimately chosen as the best by a panel of acclaimed industry experts, including Steven Van Zandt of the legendary E Street Band, John Gourley, singer of Portugal. The Man, Scott Hutchison of Frightened Rabbit, Fyfe Dangerfield of Guillemots, Live Nation Vice President of Promotions Toby Leighton-Pope and Hard Rock International Chief Marketing Officer John Galloway.

Hard Rock’s judging panel was so impressed by the caliber of emerging talent in this year’s competition that Brass Wires Orchestra of Hard Rock Cafe Lisbon and FOS of Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta, second and third prize winners of the battle, will also take the rock star journey to London and perform on Hard Rock Calling’s Hard Rock Rising Stage. Additionally, the bands will receive $5,000 and $2,500, respectively, in ReverbNation PROMOTE IT credits, a revolutionary tool that creates targeted, highly effective Facebook advertising campaigns for musicians and venues promoting songs, Facebook pages and concerts.

Hard Rock Calling, an iconic festival now in its seventh consecutive year, has established itself as one of the UK’s premier outdoor music events. The 2012 festival will take place from Friday, July 13 to Sunday, July 15 in London’s Hyde Park.
