Even a straightforward sounding entrée like ravioli is a painstakingly done concoction–roasted tomato water, asparagus, black truffle. When chef Nicola di Marchi (below) does a classic like Loup de Mer or Supréme de volaille poêlé, he hits it out of the park. Good selection of vegan and gluten-free dishes.

Staten Island Waterfront Project Signs Luxury Hotel – A roundup of real-estate news in the Greater New York region
The developer Triangle Equities is bringing the Westin brand to its $200 million mixed-use commercial complex on Staten Island’s St. George waterfront. Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. will operate a 175-room luxury hotel, the Westin New York Staten Island, in Triangle Equities’ Lighthouse Point development.

Hotel workers picket, rally as strike deadline comes and goes – Mariott Château Champlain, Ritz Carlton settle, 23 other hotels still without deal with unions
Hundreds of hotel workers took to the streets Friday, to protest against stalled negotiations at 23 hotels across Quebec. Dressed in sombreros and colourful ponchos and accompanied by a mariachi band, they dubbed their demonstration a fiesta. However, the party atmosphere belied the fact that their union, the Fédération du commerce–CSN, has been given a three-day strike mandate.
